About Indiana State University
Indiana State University originated on December 20, 1865. Governor Oliver P. Norton signed legislation creating the Indiana State Normal School for teacher training. In 1870, an inaugural class started instruction at the former Vigo Collegiate Institute. In 1908, the General Assembly authorized its addition of four-year bachelor’s degrees. Twenty years later, a Master of Education became the first graduate program. Accredited since 1915, it was renamed the Indiana State Teachers College in 1929. In 1940, the Commerce Department was formally established. By 1965, the Indiana State University name was adopted for growing academic diversity. In 1969, the College of Technology was launched. In 2002, Normal Hall on the Neo-Classic campus was also added to the National Register of Historic Places.
Endowed for $47.4 million, Indiana State University now employs 674 faculty. It has 12,531 students from 65 countries online and in Terre Haute. Indiana State University Application Requirements
Enrolling at Indiana State University is classified “moderately difficult” by Peterson’s because just 9,904 of the 11,720 Fall 2017 applicants were accepted. That an 85 percent acceptance rate. First-year students must complete the Indiana Core 40 curriculum or its out-of-state high school equivalent. Passing the Mathematics and English ISTEP sections is mandated. Freshmen need minimum 2.5 GPAs, though the median is 3.12. The middle 50th percentile earned 17-23 on the ACT. Mid-range SAT scores were 900-1110 out of 1600. Transfers are test-optional with 24+ credits graded “C” or higher. The Bayh College of Education only admits transfers holding GPAs above 2.5.
Acceptable English proficiency marks include 61 TOEFL, 6.0 IELTS, 69 MELAB, 45 PTE, and Level 112 ELS. The College of Graduate & Professional Studies seeks regionally accredited bachelor’s holders with minimum 3.0 GPAs. Exceeding the 290 GRE General Test benchmark is sometimes optional. The Scott MBA admits mid-range GMAT scores of 500-560.
Indiana State University has rolling undergrad admission with priority dates of:

The College of Graduate & Professional Studies has diverse deadlines though. For example, the Athletic Training M.S. only considers Fall cohorts until June 1st. The Master of Occupational Therapy is open from July 18th to December 24th. Hopeful Clinical Psychology Psy.D. entrants must file before December 5th.

Tuition and Financial Aid
For 2018-19, Indiana State University charged full-time undergrads $4,445 per semester. Non-resident bachelor’s tuition was $9,818 each term. The Rec Center fee cost $200 a year. Living at the Terre Haute campus’ dorms added $10,590 annually. ISU budgeted:

The Doctor of Physical Therapy is an exception priced at $16,160 or $31,720 each year.

The 21st Century Scholars Program also helps Indiana students with expected family contributions of $24,808 or less.
