As a premier Dallas criminal law firm, Broden & Mickelsen created a $1,500 scholarship. It’s for individuals who are currently employed at least part-time at a federal or state public defender office. They must wish to attend an ABA-accredited law school in Texas for a Juris Doctor degree. Eligible legal assistants and paralegals must submit a 500-word personal essay. 4. C.J. Davidson College Scholarships

For up to six semesters, the C.J. Davidson College Scholarships can present $2,250 from the Texas Family, Career and Community Leaders of America chapter. Annually, the Texas Amateur Athletic Federation sponsors the $1,000 Dan Whitworth Memorial Scholarship. It’s to encourage high school seniors or current college students to earn degrees in:

Through the College for All Texans program, the Fifth Year Accounting Student Scholarship presents $5,000 yearly. It goes to senior accounting majors at public or private, nonprofit Texas universities who are beginning a master’s degree. Suitable applicants must:

Since 1929, the Dallas Foundation has offered diverse scholarships in Texas. These include the $2,000 Jere W. Thompson Jr. Scholarship. This program is funded by the North Texas Tollway Authority to provide $8,000 over four semesters. The Kenneth H. Ashworth Fellowship Program offers up to $8,600. It’s available via College for All Texans to graduate students. They must be earning master’s or doctoral degrees in:

11. Larry McEachron Memorial Scholarship

The Larry McEachron Memorial Scholarship is funded by the Texas Parks and Wildlife Foundation (TPWD).  It’s for $2,000. It’s for Texas residents pursuing bachelor’s, master’s, or PhD degrees in fields relevant to natural and cultural resource conservation. Accepted applicants must be:

  • full-time employees with 18+ months of TPWD service
  • attend accredited four-year colleges

18. Terry Foundation Transfer Scholarship

The Terry Foundation’s Transfer Scholarship offers a minimum guaranteed stipend of $13,000 each year. It assists non-traditional students aged 20 or older who are transferring to one of 11 affiliated public universities, such as Sam Houston State or Texas Tech. To qualify, applicants must:

19. Texas Armed Services Scholarship

Deadline: September 1st

For up to four years, the Texas Armed Services Scholarship will provide $10,000 to graduating high school seniors. They must be pursuing undergraduate education at a four-year Texas college with an active ROTC program. Academic criteria requires:

  • finishing a Distinguished Achievement or International Baccalaureate
  • maintaining a minimum 3.0 GPA
  • ranking in the top third
  • scoring at least 1590 on the SAT or 23 on the ACT
  • being physically fit

Recipients must remain in ROTC for four years before entering Texas Guard service.

20. W. Price Jr. Memorial Scholarship

The W. Price Jr. Memorial Scholarship is named for the first executive director who served from 1953 to 1974. It presents $2,000 annually from the Texas Restaurant Association. Eligible are high school seniors beginning post-secondary pursuits in culinary arts. Interested candidates must:
